Worksafe Procedure
Every contractor is required to have "Worksafe Procedure" which is also sometimes known as the "Refusal to Work Procedure". Basically this gives every member of staff, including subcontractors, the absolute right to decline to carry out any work activity if they feel it is not safe to do so.
The issue should be reported to your supervisor or manager, or to Operations Centre immediately. You will then not be expected to carry out the activity until a supervisor or manager has defined a safe system of work that you are comfortable with.
You will never be penalized for carrying out this procedure. However, you would be criticised for working in a way that puts yourself of your colleagues in danger.
